WATER POLO STARTS THIS WEEK!

Monday and Wednesday evening, 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.

Bring your swimsuit and be ready to jump in or just come check it out and see if this might be your new favorite sport!

Water Polo is open to boys and girls ages 8-18 who can swim 50 yards (two lengths of the pool) without stopping or touching the bottom. It's a fun, high energy, low-pressure way to round out your summer. $60 for members, $75 for non-members. Season ends when school starts.

Marine Hills Water Polo Team -- Rule the pool!

The 2010 Water Polo season is right around corner! This exciting, fast-paced game is open to boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 18 who can swim 50 yards freestyle without stopping or touching the bottom (no time limit).

If you are not familiar with Water Polo, think of soccer in the water...well, almost.

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY - our returning coach, Shelby Jo Maynard, will teach you the basics in no time. Special guest Jordan (of the Jamaican National Water Polo Team and the Marine Hills Swim team) will stop by from time to time to lend his expertise, as well!

POOL MEMBERSHIP IS NOT REQUIRED - SO BRING YOUR FRIENDS!

Monday, July 5th, is the first practice. Invite your soccer and basketball friends, or kids who just love the water, and come down to the pool at 8 p.m. for an introduction to this fun and popular sport. We will dive right in, so come dressed to swim.

Water Polo fees are as follows:
Member rates: $60.00 for the first child, $50 for each additional sibling, with a family maximum of $200.00.
Non-member rate: $75.00 per child.

Pre-season practices (7/5-7/23) are Monday and Wednesday 8:00 - 9:30 p.m.

Regular season Practices (7/26-8/27) are M,T,W,Th 8:00 - 9:30 p.m.

Matches will begin in August (more details to follow).

Look no further than Marine Hills Swim and Tennis Club. Nestled in the Marine Hills neighborhood of Federal Way, Marine Hills Swim and Tennis Club has provided the community with an outdoor recreation facility and a family-friendly atmosphere since 1963. The club operates seven days a week throughout the summer, offering a wide variety of outdoor activities for the entire family.

Marine Hills has a five lane, 25 yard heated pool, a fenced-in baby pool, two tennis courts, a basketball hoop, a pickle ball court, and an upper deck for barbeques and picnics.

For kids interested in organized activities, the club offers competitive swimming, water polo, and tennis teams. The swimming and water polo teams compete in the Seattle Summer Swim League and the tennis team competes in the Auburn Valley Junior Tennis League. For those that prefer non-competitive programs; swimming and tennis lessons are also available to kids of all ages and ability levels.

Membership includes participation in adult lap swim, family swim, and social events; use of the tennis, pickle ball and basketball courts; access to the picnic area and barbeques for cookouts; as well as reduced rates for swimming lessons and water polo.
