 It's time for the stalwart (and slightly insane) swimmers from Marine Hills Swim and Tennis Club to show the stuff they are made of, as they brave the chilly waters (sans dry suits) of Poverty Bay. Rain or shine, at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 7th, 2010, swimmers from six to 96 can participate in the 4th Annual Polar Bear Plunge at Redondo Beach, on the north side of Salty's Restaurant.
For swimmers who want to work up a sweat prior to their swim, an informal Pool to Sound Fun Run meets at the parking lot of the Marine Hills Pool at 12:30 PM Sunday. They will job through the neighborhood, down the stairs and onto the beach before their refreshing dip. And the best part; the run is all down hill!
The Polar Bear Plunge and Fun Run is a free event, open to friends, families and fans of the Marine Hills Pool. So bring the gang, and join an elite association of Puget Plungers! Hot cocoa and tubs of warm water (for chiled tootsies) are complimentary.
